August is here

Amid coronovirus swarming around the world and an escalating threat of war against China, we are now making it to the lovely month of August under the guidance of God. In Mizo dialect August is Thitin thla. Let me briefly describe the origin of its name. The words 'Thi tin thla' literally means a month of death's culmination. It is so named because after long suffering of consequences of deaths and other ailments, from the month of October all the said misfortunes are finally started disappearing.

Typically, August is the last phase of monsoon season. Subsequently, the autumn follows. The month of August alternates between rainy days and warm days. During this month, weather is high in humidity, and in temperature as well. So, it is an ideal season for certain plants and trees that requires high moisture content and warm climate.

Meanwhile, the infinite Statewide Lockdown has continually been enforced in Mizoram as per usual. All the institutions, churches remain closed. As per WHO recent press release, Covid-19 may never go away. Somehow living with the virus may become a new normal for our generation.

Nonetheless, from different perspective there can be a bright side, especially for students it is not just a golden time, rather a diamond chance to prepare ourselves and hone our skills in accordance with our respective careers. So, in every aspect of life, it is important to remember that there is always a silver lining amid chaos.

Anyway, we are now just starting an early phase of August, I hope and pray that we are blessed with good health and positive mind set so as to cope with this month.

Thank you for giving your time to read this.
