Wisdom (My father's advice)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of the wisdom. - Proverbs 9:10

It's hard for someone like me to act wisely and behave prudently in social interactions. I have a habit of compromising my own notions for the sake of others, and I care too much about others' opinions. Therefore, I really need wisdom from God.

I believe that if we want to become wiser, the first step is to fear God. This fear is not the way we typically think of it; we should fear Him and at the same time love Him because He is a loving God. The moment I started to fear God, I saw my flaws and weaknesses in my daily life, and I believe that this is a sign that God wants me to change and become wiser. So, I need to reflect on my flaws and then adjust myself.

Lately, I realized something important - actually, it wasn't my own conception, but rather a piece of advice from my dad. He told me that if I want to adapt to any situation, act normally, or excel in every situation, I need to always think ahead to the next move. This is one of the most valuable pieces of advice I have received from my dad, and every now and then, I realize how true and important it is, especially when I engage in social situations.

So, if I want to act in a logical and reasonable way, I need to stop mindlessly living like a leaf drifting wherever the wind blows. Instead, I need to always think ahead of the outcome, and then set up the most efficient move for the next step.
